Kentucky Jet Charter arranges private flights for clients who travel with security, and we can help arrange bodyguards and armored ground transport at both ends of the trip, in Kentucky and at your destination.

Getting to and from the aircraft
A private flight usually leaves from an FBO, the private aviation terminal, away from the airline concourse. Most of the planning goes into the drive to the airport and the drive from it. With enough notice before your flight, we can do the legwork to find and arrange security staff and armored vehicles through third-party vendors, and work with your own team or a provider at the destination. We will confirm with the FBO at each end where your vehicle can meet you.
Count everyone who is flying
Your protection team takes seats like everyone else, and two or three extra people can move the trip into a larger aircraft. Give us the full traveling party, including the security staff, and tell us about any equipment the team is bringing. We will confirm the details with the operator before we quote.
Derby week and the Keeneland calendar
Derby week in Louisville and the Keeneland meets and sales in Lexington, Kentucky, bring a lot of high-profile guests to the state at the same time. If you are coming in for the Kentucky Oaks on Friday, April 30th, 2027, or the Kentucky Derby on Saturday, May 1st, 2027, ask about ground security on your first call. The FAA manages arrivals into the Louisville airports during Derby week, so we plan the airport and the timing with your vehicles in mind.
Keeping your details private
We only share passenger names and itineraries with the operator, the crew flying your trip and the ground providers who need them. If a trip is sensitive, tell us on the first call so it is handled that way from the start. For flights abroad, the rules for security teams differ from one country to the next, so raise it early and we will check with the operator and the destination. Our FAQ page answers other common questions about booking and ground transport.
Vetting Behind Every Trip
Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:
- FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
- Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
- Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
- Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
Kentucky-Specific Patterns We Plan Around
Kentucky’s busiest weeks follow the racing calendar. The Kentucky Oaks and Derby fill Louisville on the first weekend of May, and Keeneland’s spring and fall meets and its horse sales bring owners and buyers into Lexington, so those dates book first, and the FAA manages arrivals into the Louisville airports during Derby week. The rest of the year, flights leave the state for business, for Florida in the winter and for family vacations. Most Louisville trips use Louisville Muhammad Ali International or Bowman Field, Blue Grass Airport in Lexington sits across the road from Keeneland, Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International in Hebron serves the north of the state, and Bowling Green, Owensboro and Paducah cover the south and west. Ice and snow in the winter and strong spring thunderstorms are the weather we watch most often.
