Kentucky Jet Charter arranges flights for nominees, performers, executives and guests traveling from Kentucky to award shows around the country, along with the after-parties and meetings that come with them. Most of these trips leave from Louisville, Lexington or Northern Kentucky.
One date, with very little room around it
An award show will not move for anyone’s travel plans. Fittings, rehearsals and press commitments fill the days on either side, and the after-parties often run well past the last airline departure of the night. With a charter, you leave when your schedule allows, and we plan the return around the evening, whether that means late that night or the next morning. Late departures depend on the crew’s schedule and on aircraft availability, so tell us your plans for the night when you book.
Arriving without a crowd
Your party checks in and boards at a private terminal, well away from the airline concourse and the people waiting there. Only the operator and the crew on the flight receive the passenger list and itinerary from us. If the trip needs to stay out of the news, mention it when you first get in touch.
Wardrobe, equipment and the full party
Garment bags, instrument cases and styling kits fill a baggage hold quickly, and a smaller jet may not have room for all of it. List the bags and cases along with the passengers, and your advisor will suggest an aircraft with room for both.
Remember to count stylists, managers and security as well as the guests. A party that grows after booking may not fit the aircraft we quoted.
Booking ahead of the big ceremonies
Around the major ceremonies, a lot of people want the same aircraft on the same dates, and the choice narrows the longer you wait. If the date is already in your calendar, call us early. You can see the aircraft categories we look at for these trips on our passenger charter page.
Vetting Behind Every Trip
Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:
- FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
- Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
- Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
- Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
Kentucky-Specific Patterns We Plan Around
Kentucky’s busiest weeks follow the racing calendar. The Kentucky Oaks and Derby fill Louisville on the first weekend of May, and Keeneland’s spring and fall meets and its horse sales bring owners and buyers into Lexington, so those dates book first, and the FAA manages arrivals into the Louisville airports during Derby week. The rest of the year, flights leave the state for business, for Florida in the winter and for family vacations. Most Louisville trips use Louisville Muhammad Ali International or Bowman Field, Blue Grass Airport in Lexington sits across the road from Keeneland, Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International in Hebron serves the north of the state, and Bowling Green, Owensboro and Paducah cover the south and west. Ice and snow in the winter and strong spring thunderstorms are the weather we watch most often.
