Kentucky Automotive Industry Jet Charter

Kentucky Jet Charter arranges flights for automotive and manufacturing companies that need to move people and parts between plants, suppliers and head offices. In Kentucky, much of this travel centers on Louisville, Georgetown and Bowling Green, and the request often comes in with very little notice.

Plant and supplier visits

Engineers, quality auditors and executives usually need to see more than one site on the same trip. With a charter, the team leaves when it is ready, stops at a supplier in another state, and can often be home the same evening.

We look at the airport closest to each site. In Louisville, that can be Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport or Bowman Field. For Georgetown, there is Georgetown-Scott County Airport, with Blue Grass Airport in Lexington, Kentucky, as the larger option nearby. Bowling Green-Warren County serves the south-central part of the state. Before we book, the operator checks the airport against the aircraft and that day’s conditions.

Regular monthly trips between the same plants are easier to plan when we know about them from the start.

Launches, dealer meetings and visiting customers

A model launch, a plant tour or a dealer meeting can mean dozens of guests arriving on the same morning from several cities. We can bring them in on one larger aircraft, or on several smaller ones timed to land close together. For guests coming from abroad, Louisville Muhammad Ali International, Blue Grass and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International can all clear a flight arriving from overseas, and your advisor will arrange the customs side.

Parts and tooling when a line is down

When a production line stops in need of a part, getting that part to the plant quickly becomes the priority. We arrange cargo charters for urgent parts, tooling and equipment. Tell us what the shipment weighs, how big it is, and where it needs to be collected and delivered, and your advisor will match the aircraft to the load.

A small, light shipment can sometimes travel on a passenger jet or turboprop. Larger or heavier loads need a freighter, and your advisor will check how the load goes on board as well as its size. Our air cargo page explains the freight side in more detail.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.

Kentucky-Specific Patterns We Plan Around

Kentucky’s busiest weeks follow the racing calendar. The Kentucky Oaks and Derby fill Louisville on the first weekend of May, and Keeneland’s spring and fall meets and its horse sales bring owners and buyers into Lexington, so those dates book first, and the FAA manages arrivals into the Louisville airports during Derby week. The rest of the year, flights leave the state for business, for Florida in the winter and for family vacations. Most Louisville trips use Louisville Muhammad Ali International or Bowman Field, Blue Grass Airport in Lexington sits across the road from Keeneland, Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International in Hebron serves the north of the state, and Bowling Green, Owensboro and Paducah cover the south and west. Ice and snow in the winter and strong spring thunderstorms are the weather we watch most often.
